ORAL PATHOLOGY EXAM

A comprehensive oral pathology exam will help us detect any abnormalities and underlying issues that may be increasing your risk of gum disease and other health issues. We can also perform an oral cancer screening to diagnose diseases of the mouth, including cysts, tumors and cancerous lesions. Our office is equipped with digital x-rays and advanced technologies to ensure our patients receive a high level of care. We encourage all patients to undergo an oral cancer screening at least once a year.

TOOTH EXTRACTION

If you need to undergo a tooth extraction to remove damaged or infected teeth, one of our doctors can perform a surgical or simple tooth removal procedure under local anesthesia right in our office. We do everything we can to make sure this procedure is as painless as possible.

FULL MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION

Some patients need to undergo a series of restorative treatments to repair damaged teeth after gum disease, an accident or health problems that have caused significant tooth loss or tooth decay. We can perform smile makeovers and full mouth reconstruction procedures, such as dental implants, periodontal plastic surgery, bone grafts and gum grafts at our practice.

SEDATION

Sedation dentistry is used by many dentists to provide a relaxing, calming experience for patients who are afraid of going to the dentist and/or having dental procedures performed. There are many forms of sedation that can be administered in a variety of ways such as intravenous (IV) sedation, oral sedation, or nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”). This variety of sedation methods offers our dentists the flexibility of three levels of sedation – minimal, moderate, and deep – depending on the level of anxiety the patient experiences.

ALL-ON-4

The All-on-4 technique is specifically designed to use only four implants that are available for immediate function. All-on-4 implants do not typically require bone grafting, so they are an ideal solution for patients with areas of low bone density or volume.

BONE GRAFTING

Bone grafting is the replacement or augmentation of missing bone around the teeth. There are three types of bone graft procedures: autogenous, allograft, and xenograft.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are now the generally preferred tooth replacement treatment over partial dentures and fixed bridges. Traditional treatments either rest on your gums, as with removable dentures, or rely upon adjacent teeth to serve as anchors for fixed bridges. Dental implants are placed into the jaw bone, offering a highly successful, long-term replacement option.

GINGIVECTOMY

A gingivectomy is usually performed when a patient has severe periodontal disease that cannot be cured with scaling and root planing or other periodontal procedures. Gingivectomies are performed to remove and reshape loose, diseased gum tissue and to reduce the depth of pockets between the teeth and gums.

GUIDED TISSUE REGENERATION

Guided tissue bone regeneration helps the body to regenerate lost bone. By repairing the damage done by periodontal disease, this procedure will increase the chances of keeping your natural teeth and will decrease the odds of serious health problems associated with periodontal disease.

GUM GRAFTING

Gum grafts may be performed by using tissue from a nearby site, grafting tissue from the roof of the mouth, or by using donor grafting material.

IMPLANT SUPPORTED DENTURES

Implant supported dentures are snapped into place on top of dental implants. This provides a secure fit and hold, eliminating looseness or slipping without the need for paste or adhesives. Implant supported dentures are designed so that they can be removed for regular cleaning, or you can opt for fixed implant supported dentures, which function as permanent teeth.

OSSEOUS SURGERY/FLAP SURGERY

Osseous surgery (or flap surgery) is performed on patients who have moderate or advanced periodontal disease. Typically, flap surgery is performed after scaling and root planing has been attempted but has not been successful in treating existing periodontal disease.

PERIODONTAL MAINTENANCE

Periodontal maintenance therapy is an ongoing program designed to prevent periodontal disease in in the gum tissue and bone. Periodontal maintenance is usually necessary for patients who are susceptible to periodontal disease or who have been treated for gum disease. Maintenance visits to the periodontist will help prevent additional dental problems in the future. Treating the disease in its early stages saves you not only discomfort but also money!

RIDGE AUGMENTATION/PRESERVATION

Ridge augmentation is a common procedure performed to help recreate the natural contour of the gums. Ridge (or Socket) preservation is a type of bone grafting procedure that rebuilds and stabilizes bone where an extraction has left an empty, weakened socket.

SCALING & ROOT PLANING

Scaling and root planing is a nonsurgical periodontal treatment that is typically recommended when periodontal disease is diagnosed. Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease, affects only the gum tissues, and is completely reversible if detected and treated early. If left untreated, however, it can progress into the deeper tissues and potentially cause bone and tooth loss. Many patients who have gingivitis or more advanced stages of periodontal disease often experience bleeding and sore gums when brushing, flossing, and eating.

SINUS AUGMENTATION

Content coming soon!

SINUS LIFT

As a result of bone loss, the sinuses can expand to occupy the empty space where the bone used to be. With insufficient bone to securely place a dental implant, a sinus lift is necessary to move the sinus away from the roots of the teeth or to create additional bone in the area.

TEETH-IN-A-DAY

Teeth-in-a-Day, or Immediate Load Dental Implants, are the newest innovation in dental implant technology. In most dental implant cases, patients are required to have multiple office visits and must wait months before having a permanent implant placed. With immediate load implants, patients can walk in and out of the doctors office with a full set of teeth!
